2nd rounder for gonzalez isn't a bad move, but it depends on how much longer he can play

delhomme was extended so as to give them more cap room this year, something that they've said they were trying to do for weeks

Gonzo helps out this year and maybe next year.
Delhomme...Just not thinking he is a great QB who is going to lead them to the promised land as winners. He is a decent QB who can have good stretches.

Gonzalez is great, but for a second round? He's too old for that. You could draft a good TE there.

Granted, this does make them look really good for next year. Nice offense.

Kinda funny...even Gonzalez had said publicly there was no way any team would give up a 2nd for him. Atlanta could be good...except for the Curse of 370.

Only twice in the history of the NFL has a running back exceeded 370 carries and produced worth a damn the following year...Eric Dickerson and Ricky Williams. Every other time (there have been over 25 other backs to do it), the guy goes in to a free fall. We'll see if Michael Turner is one of the lucky couple, or falls in with the main group.

The Delhomme extension is just strange...another $20 million guaranteed???

Delhomme has always been a very streaky player. I just wish he'd streak right on out of Charlotte, but the Panthers just don't have any other options at QB right now.

I'm still hoping Carolina can work out some sort of draft day deal to get rid of that big (and big-mouthed) oaf Peppers, to get a couple of high round picks, and use one on his replacement and one to draft a QB.

Well, they almost HAVE to trade the guy at this point. If it's gonna happen, it will open during the draft. Hmm...maybe they're in the mix to move up for Sanchez?

I was hoping against all hope & logic that they would send delhomme & peppers to the chargers for Rivers. Haven't seen him play in person since his senior year

Prior to last year that might have been possible, but after the number Rivers put up last year in San Diego I don't think he's going anywhere.
