Weird players to have on your team

I am watching the Mets Brewers game, the announcers were talking about when Orel Hersierer (sp?) was a Met in 99. and just how weird it was because how dominant hersh had been against them in previous years, and some specific instances.

It makes you wonder, how many other great ball players come to mind, and it just doesn't seem like they should have ever been on your team, or on another team? What if Chipper Jones became a Met for example and you were a Braves fan....any instances pop up in your mind initially?

    Juan Marichal as a Dodger
Jeff Kent as a Dodger was always weird to me, cause he was such a great Giant
    Orel as a Giant (turncoat)
    Steve Garvey as a Padre
Dave Winfield as a Indian was odd
Rickey Henderson as a (pick any number of teams he bounced around)

    Johnny Damon with the Yankees
Mike Piazza had been with the Mets nearly my whole life, so it was weird to see him with San Diego and Oakland
Tom Glavine on the Mets must've been weird for Braves fans
John Smoltz with the Red Sox

The one that always got me was Mike Mussina with the Yankees. Or the Colts in Indianapolis.

Eddie Murray with the Dodgers was difficult to take, but he came back, at least.

Jason Giambi as a Yank was always tough for me, especially how fans booed him his first season there. A's fans loved Giambi and wouldnt do that to him.

Re: Weird players to have on your team

This isn't "weird players to have on your team", but nobody else has been posting that anyway, so...

When Doug Mientkiewicz was traded from the Twins to the Red Sox in 2004. He was a popular Twin at the time, and it was while the Red Sox were in Minneapolis playing the Twins. I had two fans ask me what Doug Mientkiewicz's name was doing in the Red Sox lineup that day and if it was a misprint, and they were shocked when I told them he was traded.

Also in that trade, when Nomar was sent to the Cubs. He hasn't been healthy for a long time now, but at that time he was beloved by Red Sox Nation. I'm not (nor was I) a Boston fan, but having to see your old team end an 86-year long drought and win a World Series after you were traded had to be tough.
