Mogul No No's and Perfect Games:
2008 Royals-Gil Meche No hitter in 10 innings 1-0 final score
2038 Padres-Matthew Graham Perfect Game 1-0 victory!
As an update, he fell just 11 short of Ichiros hit record, notching 251 hits, the sixth most in MLB history.
Perhaps this guy is strong defensively, which would compensate for his one-dimensional offense.
obviously this guy was edited
but he didn't break the streak, just escobar, he had a 30 game, and a 29 game hitting streak though
Well, I wouldn't use him as a leadoff hitter, but any hitter with a 98 contact rating would have a place on my team. The predicted statistics of somebody with a 98 contact rating would have a very high batting average, very low strikeouts (also a combination of the eye rating), or a combination of both. He would be an excellent hitter to do a hit and run play with. And it's not as if high contact is his only asset. I'm just saying in terms of overall ratings, what is "low" to one person is "high" to another.
Exactly... just turn down the stolen base tendencies under Strategies.
True. True. Just looking at his stats though, I'd be hard pressed to have in a starting lineup, and if I did. I would always be trying to draft or sign a free agent replacement. But wouldnt, not want him on my team. And I always like my teams to run. lol. He just seems to not score many runs, so those hits would be a bit empty. Kind of like a Rob Deer home run. Of course his team could not have any real good run producers, so that would leave him hard pressed to score.
Apart from his own baserunning transgressions, the lack of runs may very well be due to a lack of good hitters behind him.
Understood. I've just had expansion draft lineups where the highest rated player might be an 83 with the rest of them in the mid- to high-70's, and that's for a few seasons until I'm able to develop other players. (I have quite a few free agent restrictions placed on myself and use Mizerak's app to determine their interest as well, so it's not like I can just go out and sign a replacement.) I think depending on the rest of my team's makeup, I'd have the stolen base tendencies slider turned way down under Strategies and I'd have him steal only when I played in PBP mode. The AI seems to attempt stolen bases at odd intervals.
Fascinating read.
The guy hitted 251 hit in a season at age 24 and you wouldn`t have him in your lineup.
We clearly have different strategies. He would be hitting 2nd in my lineup anytime.
just for fun, thought I would share
