Wow, watching the game live on ESPN, don't know if I was distracted or what, but I missed Fielder's tip of the cap.

    Man, talk about class.

Tell you what, this week..... with the way Cameron reacted....

I'm thinking most baseball players are classy. Don't give a rats ass about the negative stories (and they do SUCK) it seems to me these guys are mostly class acts. Good for them. Especially since I dreamed of being one, and my failure probably would've left me............ well, let's say less than a class act.

OFG, if you say one more thing this week that I agree on, I am going to blow a load.

I agree, I actually used to think of Cameron as a total dick etc. You never do get to hear the good stories, it's always the trouble makers in the news.

    But yup, you are right.

This is biased, I know it is, but one reason I love Cardinal nation is just this, as a whole, the fans and the organization are pretty good people, and treat neighboring teams with respect. as a whole that is.

and when you look at what happened in LA this week. the way the other teams handled things. it makes you think about things in the past where unique people have handled unique situations with class, and we tend to forget them. The beauty in baseball is exactly what you see.

Watching the replay it seemed like that ball was up in the air forever. Reed timed it so perfect. In the replay when it shows Fielder tipping his helmet at the bottom it looks like Braun said "Wow" as he was probably watching the replay on the video screen at Miller.

I'm not sure if its shown on the link. Watching the highlights on ESPN you could see Braun's face though.

Go Fielder, good job for tipping your cap...that's awesome! all major league players should be doing that, just like if a guy strikes you out and you just didn't see that breaking ball coming there....and it was nasty...when walking back, tip your cap, and don't try to show them up.....and don't watch your freaking homers, please.

You're right on that, and it's the same reason that you only hear about bad news and never good news... it doesn't sell, and people aren't interested in it. ESPN gets more clicks to an article about a player getting a DUI, or in a fight with a teammate, or somebody demanding to be traded than they do about an article about the class acts in baseball, charity work, and so on. It's just the way we are... for better or worse.

That wasn't Reed's first web gem either as a Cub. This was a great play too in a tie game last year. He was an excellent pick-up last year.

Johnson's a good ballplayer - better than he gets credit for.

As for ballplayers: yeah, I'm willing to guess that most of them are good guys. Remember, I've worked in politics before, and I've found a lot of politicians who are genuinely interested in doing their jobs well and trying to help people and being good, classy folks - not all of them in my party, either. Lot of 'em are dicks, too, and yeah, you hear about those a great deal...
