I vote Pelfrey, he votes Volquez.

I might lose this one but I just think Pelfrey is a better pitcher, The Best, has plenty of reasons to think otherwise

I'm a bit, um, biased, but I'd barely take Mike "Big Pef" Pelfrey

Volquez. Better K:BB ratio, better WHIP, strikes out more batters which leaves less to chance... I just think Volquez is better overall.

Not sure why these two guys specifically are being compared, but I'd tale Volquez. As it was pointed out, he's got better peripherals, and basically does at least as well as Pelfrey while racking up more strikeouts to boot. He seems to have the makings of an ace or a #2, where Pelfrey has the making of a #3.

I believe Volquez did it once, and won't repeat those kinds of numbers. While Pelfrey just seems to be that kind of big game pitcher, I believe in the boy, not based on last year, but going forward

What makes you think that Volquez's season was a one-hit wonder and Pelfrey's wasn't? Neither of them has done it for more than one year and Volquez had a better 2008 than Pelfrey.

Volquez. I'm a believer in Pelfrey that he'll be a strong #2 starter, perhaps as soon as this year. Volquez, though, is better.

haha, I just like Pelfrey, I like his delivery, I also entered this debate thinking Pelfrey had a better year last year then he did haha. Looking at stats tells you a lot.
