Later today the Cubs will get to face old teammate Jason Marquis. He was a good #5 for the Cubs but a little overpriced. It should be interesting how it plays out and it will be better baseball weather than on Monday when it was 36 and raining for the opener at Wrigley.

Of course Carpenter is injured, lol. I'm still counting the days waiting for Bedard.

    Hope mine works too.

Come on A's, get some runs and get Anderson a W.

EDIT: HAHA, E-5, and the perfecto is gone.

Now, JINX JINX JINX JINX JINX on the the no-no.

EDIT2: Oh boy, still the no-no. Now I really hope it gets broke up. Lowell doesn't need to have this be the only blemish. I hope for his sake too it gets broken up.

Cmon Wake. He deserves this - long, thankless career, moving from starter to bullpen, demoted, catcher issues, etc. The guy is 42.

He deserves a no-no to his credit. He's had enough complete games for crying out loud.

A no-hitter would still be great, and it's because of Lowell that the Red Sox have a lead now, otherwise it would be 0-0.

Yeah, I'm hoping now too, since Anderson is out and I can't get a W now under any circumstance.

Funny how fantasy BB makes you root for the games differently.

Still would feel bad for Lowell though. It was a super easy play. Routine ground ball that was waist high. He just seemed to non-chalent it and took his eye off it.

I guess now I hope Wake walks one, but finishes the no-no.

And the no-hitter is gone. Good, now I can log off and go back outside.

Well, well well.... If you look at the MLB standings, so far pretty much EVERY division is backwards of how they were actually predicted.

    http://mlb.mlb.com/mlb/standings/index.jsp

Especially these 2 divisions and the NL East somewhat.

    AL East:
    Baltimore
    Toronto
    New York
    Tampa
    Boston

    AL Central:
    Detroit
    KC
    Chicago
    Minnesota
    Cleveland

I don't know anybody that really pays attention to the standings until at least mid-May or so.

Last year, the Orioles started off 6-1, and the Royals 6-2, and the D'backs 7-2, and the Rays were in last place.

Tough way to lose for the Royals. Down by two runs in the 8th, mark teahen leads off with a single, but tried to stretch it to a double for no reason and is out by a mile.

Next batter, Mike Jacobs hits an absolute dreamshot for the solo HR....and we end up losing by one.

Losses happen, whatever, but man, I bet Teahen feels a little silly on that one. Oh well. Offense is coming around and the starting pitching has been amazing...even Sir Ponson has (gulp!) actually looked kinda decent. I don't think he'll last...but at least he hasnt' completely blown up yet.
My runs created per 27 posts (RC/27p) was 12.4 last year. I should've been MVP.

The Rockies bullpen needs Taylor Bucholz back. Had Fontenot not made a mistake on the base paths Street and Grilli could have blown this one.

Guess it's a good day to be a Nats fan.

    No way they lose today.
