Anyone who thinks Zack Greinke is a legitimate Cy candidate is just not thinking.

In my head I think that, but I don't want to get ahead of myself.
My runs created per 27 posts (RC/27p) was 12.4 last year. I should've been MVP.

Because he's not that good, that's like saying Gil Meche, Carlos Silva, and Oliver Perez are legit Cy candidates.

    Um, no, it's not.

The key difference between Greinke and those guys is that he's 3+ years younger, still improving...oh, and...better.

    HAHA.

Well, I'll just take solace, then, in the fact that my team has the better closer than your team.

This statement assumes that he thinks at anytime whatsoever. I'm not so sure about that.

Speaking of morons, read the your take comment by commenter saying the Orioles are going to win the World Series. LOL

This was the first time I gandered at the "your take" section in mlb.com and I think it will be the last.

Pirates with another win. They seriously need to cut Tyler Yates and bring up Meek. Meek had a great spring and should be in the bullpen over clowns like Yates and Sean Burnett.

The difference between Greinke and these guys is that Greinke has incredible stuff, but it is no match for the stuff between his ears. It's hard to appreciate him until you see him live. He was absolutely mesmerizing in a game I went to in April of 2007. Not only does he have that 25-30 MPH difference between his fastball and his curveball that Kowboy Koop talks about, but he is able to add and subtract velocity at will with his fastball. At times, he's like an expert hunting cat and the hitters are like his meek prey. That can get the better of him, when he starts toying with them and it can cause him to lose focus a bit, but when he's on it's a joy to watch him and with Cruz, and Soria backing him up (or ABF = Anyone But Farnsworth) it's a tough night for the opposition hitters. Even though it seems like he's been around forever, he's only 25 and he has a tremendous future ahead of him. Some pitchers are just getting their feet wet at this age. He's already had an electric rookie season at age 20, been to hell and back and now he's back with avengeance. If he continues to enjoy the game as he struggled to do in '05 and '06, he should be in line for a Cy Young and maybe more than one.

Spot on. Greinke's extremely smart on the mound, but does fall victim to getting a little bored sometimes. This is why during his rookie year he threw the eephus pitch a lot, just to see what would happen. Towards the middle of his rookie year, he had thrown it 10 or 12 times, never being hurt by it..then he threw one to Jim Thome (I think it was him) and he hit it about 500 ft. and that was the end of that. Greinke even said in the postgame interview that night that he was glad Thome crushed it because he wanted to see how far a MLB slugger could hit it.

He's matured since then, but you can still tell he likes to toy with the batters....

Sounds like a couple you feel about Grienke as I do about Harden
