Zack Greinke was MAGNIFICENT through six innings tonight. His curveball was plus-plus-plus.
My runs created per 27 posts (RC/27p) was 12.4 last year. I should've been MVP.

And taken out at 95 pitches.

I'm really starting to get sick of this strict 100 pitch count for ****ing everybody.

It's the beginning of the season. They have to get back into the swing of things, cool your jets.

His name is Mike Pelfrey, not Pefrey. Shouldn't you be calling him Pelf? He's like 6'8" or something so you could call him "Pelf The Giant Elf".

It's not much better at other times in the season.

Teams have it set in their mind that pitchers can't go more than 100 pitches....except for the few remaining crazies that think its okay to send 23 year olds out for 130 pitches in meaningless games.

    There's no middle ground anymore.

    Mr. Smith,

I understand your concern about this matter, but I feel that you may be exaggerating its severity.

    Sincerely,

At least it was for Juan Cruz, who threw 2 scoreless innings with absolute ease.

Soria in for the 9th...the 1st potential wins are always the most nerve-wracking.

Also, Zack went out for the 7th but gave up a hit and both of his pitches were up...so I'm okay with taking him out, he looked a little tired.

Thanks for that. I should have looked at the recap rather than the box score.

    No prob.

My god Soria is absolute gold. The 93 mph fastball followed by a 67 mph 12-6 curve to sit Dye down.

    Unhittable.

EDIT: Greinke also ranged from 96 mph with the FB and threw a couple 66 mph curveballs for strikes. That's sickening. I love watching pitchers mix speeds. Greinke is a legitimate Cy Young candidate some day, he's so smart.

I'd revise "some day" to "this year."
