    From the Orioles' pre-game

In the pre-game feature interviews, Adam Jones was asked what opening day meant to him. His reply: "It means we destroy the Yankees...and crush the hearts of their fans."

I have a tear in my eye...and a new favorite Oriole.

    GO BIRDS!

Opening day means a lot to the Orioles. It is one of the few games they will be playing that will actually have meaning to them this season.

Looks like Day 2 will be meaningful for the Birds too. Opening Day final - Orioles 10, Yankees 5.

Where would you put his ceiling? Somewhere maybe like a lesser Grady Sizemore?

Congrats to the Orioles on shelling a pitcher worth 4 times their entire roster's base salary.

Sabathia not getting through the fifth...homerun from Cesar Izturis...Orioles players talking smack pre-game...Tex going O-fer....man, I am a happy guy right now. I'd love for the Orioles to place 3rd this year. Jays and Yanks can fight for 4th. Pipe dreams? Sure.

I agree Jones will be great this year. I;m so happy to see the almighty Yanks lose. I hate the Yanks. Any of your guys see Kay[ The Yanks guy on YES] when the Yank got a run on a single hit and run and a sac fly. He was so excited it was like a new thing to him LOL

Probably not. He did show patience at the plate today, which he was not known for in his rookie season - I was pretty happy to see that.
