I do acknowledge that defense is important, I just don't find it as important as most people, thus I find it overrated by some people here on these forums.

    Re: 2009 MLB Predictions

I think its very important, because when the A's were losing in 5 games in a LDS every year for awhile it was because of our lack of defense. We were like a softball team, the only way Oakland would win back then was because we were so dependent on that 3 run jack. Even having the big 3 didnt save us.

Most people underrate it. Again, the difference between the best and worst defensive teams in the league is 120 runs, or roughly 12 wins. That means that the best defensive teams in the league gain about 6 wins above average solely from their defense (and the worst lose about 6 wins). This is HUGE.

Save this, I want to see how close you end up. You are about as close as anyone else I have seen. Although I don't exactly think the Mets will do as well as predicted, and of course the award winners are hard to say. And I don't know about the A's. Everyone else, I agree to basically a 5 game swing. Some more, some less.

You tend to be on this stuff man.

Ugh the Indians kind of ruined me. And the Mets. My AL East is great. My AL West is perfect. My NL Central is decent. My NL West isn't great but I was right to leave the Padres off the list knowing they'd stink. Although I take pride in knowing the Giants would be good.

Sizemore stunk. Wright lost his power. Lincecum was a good pick. Burnett not so much. Maybin hasn't even been in the majors. Jerry Manuel and Eric Wedge are more likely to be fired than win MOY. And Fausto Carmona stinks.

    Overall, I stunk.
Zack and Miri made a Morneau and now it Byrnes when he Peavy's.

That has yet to be decided. I'd put a ton of money on this guy named Chris Carpenter winning that award.
