    Vlad Guerrero 34, not 33

So, Vlad Guerrero admitted today that he's actually 34, not 33, as his listed age states.

What does this mean? Nothing really.

Maybe he is actually 35... or 37, but is lying, basically you can't trust a person who has lied.

He's one year closer to getting the senior's discount at Denny's?

His wonky knees beg to differ. They can sometimes conspire to make him appear to be 40.

As MLB Rumors puts it, this is pretty old news.

all it means is whats already known....one should be very skeptical of the listed ages on a player of forign birth if one is wishing to give him millions.

Careful with that "foreign" tag. Would you really doubt Ichiro's age? Or Dice-K's?

How about players born in "under developed countries" instead?

sure i'd have doubt over their ages too. i'm not sure of the immigration process, but why would it be easier for those from central america to alter their birth cert. than those from asian countries? Or even Canada for that matter? Maybe its more difficult through their govt., but is it really unfathomable?

Correct. I don't recall players from any country other than the Dominican Republic who ended up being older than originally thought.

I'm not sure, but I seem to remember Cuba having a problem with this, just because most of the players end up floating on a raft in the middle of the Caribbean.

EDIT: found an example in Orlando Hernandez
