vrabel traded from pats to chiefs for draft pick
2 interesting moves. The Browns and Winslow needed to separate...that relationship had completely fallen apart. And Vrabel to KC tells me that New England's going to be looking to draft linebackers again.
As well, Tennessee has re-upped Collins, Brian Dawkins is a Bronco (both good moves) and Washington dumped Shawn Springs.
Well since we signed Fred Taylor we probably aren't drafting a RB in the 1st or 2nd round. WR in 3rd or 4th maybe

Who the hell is Chris Baker??

yeh, yeh & the texans should take a qb in the 1st round also
The pats had one of the most efficient running games in the NFL last year. Sammy Morris ranked 10th in DYAR, 11th in YAR, 5th in DVOA & was 10th in success rate. RB isn't a pressing need for the pats (before or after the Taylor signing), period.
i can't beleive dawkins has left my eagles!!! the guy is a beast. he has lost a couple steps but makes up for it with his leadership. a solid broncos signing, a major eagle loss.![]()
The major position (other then the D-line) the broncos lacked was the Safety position. They didn't have ANYONE back there worth their salt and now with Dawkins they do.
Now, a d-line. Next, a solid middle linebacker.
He's a solid player...nice blocker, good short yardage receiver as a safety valve. He helps them re-discover that double tight end formation that's been successful for them in the past.
What they lacked was a big play back...that was supposed to be Maroney, but that hasn't panned out. Anyway, Taylor fills that hole in their backfield...really nice pickup for the Pats.
AS FOR NEW STUFF!
-New Orleans re-ups Jonathan Vilma...a very good move for them. He looked solid in the middle of that D, especially since their defensive tackles didn't do a great job of eating up the blockers and keeping him clean. They had enough holes on D without having to replace him, too.
-The Jets grab Lito Sheppard in a trade. Again, nice move by New York. Lit's a decent cover corner, and gives them a very nice number 2 guy opposite Revis. They also resigned Brandon Moore about 24 hours after unloading him. They wanted Kemoeatu, but he decided to stay with the Steelers. Still, they saved on paying Moore the roster bonus he was due.
-St. Louis signs Jason Brown to play center. Not sure what his contract is, but they need big guys like him who can piledrive holes open for Jackson to run through.
-Denver HAS signed Renaldo Hill to be their other safety next to Dawkins.
Well could a mod change this to the NFL offseason thread? That's the way its panning out
