Wrong forum, but yes, I have considered him "elite" for a while> I am no football expert, but to me he seems a truly great player.

The only 2 QBs I would call elite at the moment are Manning and Brady. By elite, I mean first ballot Hall of Fame LOCK kind of players.

I am a Big Ben fan, though...the guy's fun to watch, hangs out with drunken skanks, and can go head to head with a car without a helmet and survive.

I see Manning and Brady as elite, but Big Ben just doesn't have their ability or their "aura" if you will when talking about elite quarterbacks. Maybe in 5 years or so it will be a different discussion, but as of right I don't see him as elite. Winning a Super Bowl doesn't make you an elite quarterback, he had a pretty damn good rest of the team around him.

Number of Super Bowl wins is a really stupid way of determining if a QB is "elite". Just consider that Jim McMahon and Doug Williama both won as many as Johnny Unitas.

Add Trenet Dilfer to the SB winning QB group & remember that Marino never won one & Fouts never even played in one

I wouldn't call him elite, but he reminds me a lot of my own Matt Hasselbeck. He's a very solid QB and any team would be lucky to have him. With the rest of the talent on the team though, he really doesn't need to be elite to get another ring.

you can talk about Dilfer & Williams all you want, Big Ben is one of two QB's to win two SB's. That says alot...but alone wouldn't be enough for "elite" status. However, I do beleive his statistics and accomplishments at such a young age DOES put him into elite status. He may never put the numbers of Manning & Brady up, as he's not in a system conducive to those numbers...however he does more than enough to get "elite" QB status.

by elite, i'm saying he's amonst the top in the game TODAY. I cna't think of many QB's i'd put above him in todays game.

Drew Brees better than Ben, close but no way. Brees puts up big numbers but his teams don't go anywhere. I like Brees but numbers don't mean alot if you don't win and he's only 4 games over .500 as a starter(56-52) and has won only one playoff game.

Unless you think the Saints are losing b/c of Brees, then I don't see how wins factor into it. Personally, I think the Saints are about a 3 win team w/o Brees.

So it's somehow the fault of Brees that Reggie Bush is a crappy running back and the Saints defense couldn't stop me from putting up 150 on the ground?
