AAA - Robert Hernandez(SP) (CHC)
AAA - Eddie Kunz(RP) (NYM)
Thoughts on updates - Eddie Kunz is basically cheap depth and a middle reliever. His best asset is striking out players with his worst being that he fails to locate his pitches anywhere near the strike zone and when he does they're usually right down the middle resulting in lots of hits and home runs. Watching him pitch makes one wish for the sweet embrace of some sort of eye cancer. The other player taken with him is young starting pitcher Neil Ramirez. It looks like Fili had to dive in to his Nationals bag of tricks. Ramirez looks like he'll eventually become a productive power pitcher. Ramirez is a great pitcher with lots of room to improve. Look for him in another year and a half to break in to the rotation.
------
Robert Hernandez is a pitcher with a decent enough repertoire for his age and decent control and movement. He's pretty much a depth move so there isn't much to say. The other pitcher taken with him is Luis Pena. With Pena in the bullpen this leaves Kunz likely to be the odd man out. There's nothing that Kunz does better than Pena and they even have the same pitches although Pena throws the more difficult change.

AAA - Will Middlebrooks(SS) (BOS)
AAA - Kevin Whelan(RP) (NYY)
Thoughts on updates - AH HA! I thought you would choose Ruiz soon. I've never been a big fan of carrying 3 catchers in BM, but it's never a bad thing and Ruiz definitely has the defensive capabilities. Ruiz will likely end up higher in the food chain than Diaz due to a much better OBP and defensive skills, but they'll each have their own roles to fill. With the addition of southpaw McBride it now confirms, in my mind, that Morillo will be used as a middle reliever. McBride has a pretty horrid recent history, but he is much better than that. He should post a high 3 ERA if he performs like he should.
------
Well Seth Smith adds more depth to an already deep outfield core and with this move it pushes Yonder Alonso up to the DH role or possibly first base with Konerko moving to the DH (Despite Konerko being more susceptible to injury, he's the better fielder). Seth Smith will probably end up on the bench or become a depth AAA OF who will be called up during injuries. He's pretty much a league average fielder defensively and offensively who can only play right and a little left field. Also chosen was New York reliever Kevin Whelan who, just like Morillo, struggles with his command while posting high strikeout rates. Between the two Morillo has the better stuff by a bit which pushes Whelan down to AAA.

Thanks, for the millionth time - but still a millions thanks shy - to everyone who helped out. It made this a lot more interesting than if I'd just done it on spread sheets.
