    Going to Vegas

Im looking to put a bet down on who will win the pennant or world series. What would be a good pick to win me some $$?

On a side note, im going to be betting on College Basketball as well, but I dont know who's who or what's what. So any advice someone can give me on who I should bet on in CB would be appreciated too.

Sweet, I love that place. The last time I went was during March Madness, I had a great time getting drunk betting on the tourney. This years gonna be more about the strippers and such, but I will have time to lay a few bets down.

If you're looking for a (somewhat) underdog for the World Series, go with Minny, Cleveland, Detroit or Chicago. They're in the middle of the pack odds-wise, but one (or two) of them are going to make it to the playoffs so...

going on pure value, i think your best bets are bo-sox or rays...with the way the al west is looking right now, the rangers may be a decent selection also

i'm assuming you're looking at college basketball futures also? if so, i think the best values are ucla, oklahoma, & pitt

I was more going to bet on the actual games playing that nite than the futures on basketball.

I was looking at the lines and I thought Detroit would be something to think about. Also the A's look good to me at 16/1. But your right as far as getting the most bang for my buck the AL Central may be the way to go.

I'm just thinking the AL Central is such a crapshoot (in my eyes at least).

As far as NCAA games, the lines don't come out until that day

    Re: Going to Vegas

Last I heard, the Royals were considered the 2nd longest shot to win the WS..and they are obviously not the 2nd worst team in baseball...so that should be your 'longshot' bet..and then I'd probably bet one of the middle of the pack teams listed in a previous post.
My runs created per 27 posts (RC/27p) was 12.4 last year. I should've been MVP.

    Re: Going to Vegas

Bet a team that has a decent to good shot of winning their division but isn't necessarily the favorite (Giants, Cardinals, Marlins, A's). Getting a team with okay playoff chances is the most important thing, and you can put down very little and get a nice payoff. Put down $5 each on 4 dark horse teams to win it all and see what happens. $20 isn't much, considering what you might win.
