as I've said before, its his life...who cares. If he wants to retire, fine. If he wants to wait and see if he can sign with a team later, fine. If he decides he wants to play next year today...fine.

I don't understand the contempt people hold for someone who's in the last stages of his career and doesn't want to let go.

Its not the fact of what he does its how he does it that bothers me. IF he want to retire say so- If he want to play; say so - If he want to wait and hurt his teams decision making- say so.

But dont play the retire-Im paying-Retiring-NO Im not - BS that he's done that last two year. ANd don't try to act all indigent when you tell your team that you are going to quit and they move on.

It's because ESPN makes it part of our lives that we hold contempt.

I'm sick and freakin tired of the words Brett Favre.

maybe he hasn't made up his mind yet. he has every right to make up his mind later, and then change it again should he choose.

if the jets are unhappy, they can very easily cut ties and go in a different direction, or put a deadline on an answer.

Stupid Brett Favre, not learning his lesson.
My runs created per 27 posts (RC/27p) was 12.4 last year. I should've been MVP.

THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!! ESPN over does this stuff, just like CNN, FOX news, MSNBC, all over hype murder mysteries in states like California....it happens elsewhere, why are you over talking about it? ESPN only seems to water down everything.

If I was the Jets, I take this news and run with it. I would release an answer to a question of "are you going to wait and see with Brett?" with this: "We appreciate what Brett did for us this season, and we hope him the best, but with recent news, we can not hold our team hostage only to find out if he will be returning or not. The team will be moving on as if he will not be joining us next season. If he decides to come back, we will have open arms and be prepared work with him in camp."

I say the Jets need to think about themselves, and find their next QB.

Thats a really good Idea actualy... tell him if you decide to come back you are a backup to whomever we get as a QB.

Only problem is that they would be on the hook for 15 mill unless they went to the Commish NOW and said, "Brett is retiring and if he comes back we will not pay the contract". If he signs off he is retiring... he cna go anywhere he likes. After last years performance... its not like we would be getting a pick back anyway
