    Is there a stat for pct. of balls batted into play?

    ?

    To try and clarify...the percentage of plate appearances that result in the ball being put into play.

    you mean like BABIP?

    BABIP is the percentage of balls in play that were hits.

    To calculate the amount of plate appearances that result in a ball being put into...take At Bats, subtract Strikeouts, add Sacrifice Flies. For BABIP purposes, home runs are also subtracted.
