He's from Curacao, which is Dutch territory, he's not actually from the Netherlands.
I went to Curacao about a month ago, and it's more like Mexico then it is a European country.

Yes I am pissed, because .......
My runs created per 27 posts (RC/27p) was 12.4 last year. I should've been MVP.

High Reward/No risk deal...........similar to what the Braves have offered to Glavine

His signing to LAD was a terrible idea when it happened....I can't believe he got what he got after 07. Boras's arguments were that he was still a gold glove award winner and that he would bounce back...I honestly don't see Jones ever really playing up to his old days...I just don't think he is the type of player that will bounce back....if he does, and if some other things can happen for Texas this year: wow watch out!

exactly. This is the guy I coined for the sox months ago because i thought they could get him on this type of contract. I think possibly he may have felt he'll have a better opportunity to make the team in Texas than in Boston? I hope the heck Boston at least took a chance on him.

I don't think he'll revert to his hey day, but something close to it would be a big bonus. its a crap shoot with little risk.

Well, they were impressed with Andruw's hitting workouts and he has lost 25 pounds. They signed him mainly in part to those two things, and obviously that he still has a chance to turn things around.

    Low risk, HIGH reward.

If he actually plays remotely well, I'm gonna murder someone. I've never wanted a player to fail more than I do right now.
    Illini.

Yeah I need a Winn-Dixie grocery bag full of money right next to the VIP section...

Well,it he fails then the Dodgers did right to cut him,if he succeeds then they "get egg on their face".......the point is that it was the Dodgers WHO signed him to that 36 mill deal & should (like others) have structured the contract better eg Weight clauses or heavily incentive driven.

Jones (& his agent) played the system & won but today this deal is structured in such a way he can get ANOTHER X million deal in 2010+,smart deal for him & the Rangers who get a "motivated" player for almost nothing...
