RSF, Steve: Thanks for your picks guys! With 5 of 6 selected, I can tell you that someone has picked the correct award, and that lucky person will be sent a PM informing them of their win.
RSR: With Varitek and Taubensee ahead of him, Hatteberg has barely gotten any playing time. He's really been used as a pinch hitter, which is a rarity in the AL. He's only gotten 21 AB, but he does have 10 hits and 6 RBI, so he's productive off the bench. He's just not seeing playing time...

BIG MOMENTS IN AUGUST
AUGUST 13, 2000
REDS LOSE TO GIANTS, LOSE CASEY UNTIL SEPTEMBER
Starting off a stretch of 48 straight days with games, the Cincinnati Reds knew they had to get off on the right foot. Unfortunately, the right foot of their first basemen will cost him the month of August.
The Giants won 6-3, to extend their lead in the Wild Card chase. In the loss, the Reds 1Bman had a cleat rupture his Achilles tendon; he will be out until the beginning of September. Calvin Pickering (.315, 19 HR, 103 RBI at AAA Louisville) will be called up to replace Casey.

LARKIN COLLECTS HIT #2000 IN REDS LOSS
AUGUST 31, 2000
JUNIOR HELPS REDS WALK OFF; MAKES HISTORY IN PROCESS
Ken Griffey, Jr. went 4 for 4, including a walk-off home run, his 2nd of the game, lifting the Reds to a 9-8 victory over the Phillies.
Junior hit his 40th home run of the season in the 5th inning, tying the game at 4. His 7th inning double gave the Reds a 2-run lead, but the bullpen was unable to hold it. Griffey lead off the 9th inning, hitting a 3-0 pitch into the bleachers for the walk-off win.
Junior’s home runs were the 438th and 439th of his career, passing Andre Dawson for 25th all-time. He also hit the 40 home run plateau for the 5th straight season, and the 7th time in his career.
so your going to acquire Hatty next season, right?

RSR: Well, i have Santiago under contract through 2001, so after that it's a possibility. I don't really have an outstanding prospect in the minors, so I'll definitely need a backup C/1B behind LaRue

We’ve turned into a 2-man team: Griffey and Harnisch are far and away the best on the team. Aaron Boone (.277, 23 HR, 78 RBI) has really put forth a surprising season. We should probably turn to next season, with 15 players with contracts due (Casey, Boone, Pokey, and Dmitri included).

GO JAYS GO!
I haven't been able to say that in a dynasty in a while, they're usually not in contention.
2000 is an interesting year. The stars of today are starting to break in. Plus there are many old stars winding down their career. Seeing how well the Jays are doing, I might have to start a 2000 dynasty myself. (Not on the forums, just for my own enjoymeny)
Active Dynasty
Meeting Success: A New Regime - Follow us as etothep chronicles me and eddie's efforts to bring a championship back to Queens
Paused Dynasties
The Goose continues the Hawk's battle for Capital Hill
Une Rève Réaliser: Les Expos de Montréal (1969-)
Retired Dynasties
The San Diego Padres, into a Friar Destiny (with Jeffy25 and Ragecage)
A New Era Takes Flight - The 2008 Toronto Blue Jays
The Blue Birds: A new Era
Sens get Les Expos going again I liked that one.
Beckett?
My guess would be Redman judging by the honorable mention
I wonder if Griffey will hit 50 homers this year...![]()
reflections: Is there anything better than a 41-year-old leading the National League in steals? I think not.
gosensgo: Well, they've been a surprise in the AL East. Riding the power of Burnitz (acquired in a midseason trade), Delgado, and Brad Fullmer (who will all finish with over 40 home runs). Plus they've gotten huge lifts from Chris Carpenter, David Wells, and Kelvim Escobar. (BTW, just wait until you see who they get this offseason!)
OregonDuck: Agreed. Sens, get back to work!
lilbman: Ah, the last one left. Unfortunately, I've already told you that someone's already got it, and they've already PM'ed me their players info.
200tang: Again, thanks for the participation, but you snoozed, and therefore losed (lost? lose-ed?) It's a very good guess though, as you'll soon see...
boomboom: With 29 games in September, its a distinct possibility. 9 HR in a month? No sweat for Junior Griffey.

BIG MOMENTS IN SEPTEMBER
SEPTEMBER 10, 2000
CARDINALS CLINCH NL CENTRAL
A 4-3 victory over the Florida Marlins punched the Cardinals ticket to October today. This comes as no surprise to baseball fans, as the Cardinals have had the best record in baseball since April. It appears a foregone conclusion that the Cardinals will clinch homefield advantage throughout, as they hold an 9-game lead over the 2nd-best NL record (belonging to the Marlins).
SEPTEMBER 14, 2000
REDS BEAT PADRES 4-3; JUNIOR PASSES KONG
The Reds managed another victory in their desperate (read: futile) chase for the Wild Card, beating the Padres 4-3 in San Diego.
In the victory, Ken Griffey, Jr. hit his 45th home run of the season, and 443rd of his career. This moves him ahead of Dave Kingman on the all-time list. Junior now looks to 452 home runs, the number held by Carl Yastrzemski.
***
OOC: Poor Lance Davis. He gets to make his Major League debut against…Randy Johnson. He held his own, but the Reds still lost 6-3. Scott Randall had it a little easier, with his ML debut coming against Brandon Webb the next day. He also got a lot of offense, winning 9-4.

SEPTEMBER 19, 2000
REDS ELIMINATED BY MARLINS, 6-1
The Cincinnati Reds can now only hope to reach .500, as their playoff dreams were ended by the NL East leading Marlins, 6-1. Alex Fernandez tossed 8 innings of 1-run ball to give the Marlins the win. Aaron Boone hit his 24th home run in the loss.
SEPTEMBER 29, 2000
HARNISCH SHUTS OUT METS ON FINAL DAY OF SEASON
GRIFFEY HITS 50TH HOME RUN
Pete Harnisch’s 5-hit shutout capped a tumultuous season for the Reds. The Cincinnati ace’s win gave him a tie for the National League lead with 16.
Ken Griffey, Jr. hit his 50th home run, tops in the Majors this year. He also drove in 141 runs, good for 4th in baseball.
