You think the owner even asked Mangini what his plans for the team were if he took over the team?

Got rid of a top tier TE, their #1 WR and potentially 2 QBs while rumors also abound that he has rubbed Shaun Rogers (likely their best defender) the wrong way as well. I'll be surprised is Mangini gets another head coaching gig any time in the near future if the Browns haven't made large strides in a couple years. Just makes the Jets look that much better for getting Ryan to replace him.

Everyone knows the famous busts...Akili SMith, Ryan Leaf, Lawrence Philips, Steve Emtman, Tony Mandarich, Heath Shuler, Blair Thomas, Andre Ware, Brian Bosworth, etc

But here's my list of worst busts that nobody ever talks about:
QB - Jim Drunkenmiller (26th pick by SF in 1997 out of Va Tech)...Lowest completion percentage & yard per attempt of any first round QB; totaled just 8 games in his 'career'; yet to be heard from since leading the Memphis Maniax in the XFL

RB - Larry Stegent (8th pick by St Louis Cardinals in 1970 out of TAMU)...Didn't see any action his rookie year; the highlight of his career came in his second season, when he caught a pass for 12 yards; seriously, that's it, 7 games, no carries, 1 catch for 12 yards

WR - Marcus Nash (30th pick by Denver in 1998 out of Tennessee)...Another 7 game career; w/ John Elway at QB, he could still only muster 4 catches for 76, telling you how good Peyton Manning is that he made Nash look like a first rounder; also yet another instance of why measuring success by Super Bowl rings is nothing more than laughable as Nash has 2


I understand that Drunkenmiller & Nash were taken later in the 1st and so it's harder to call them a bust compared to players with stats not much better taken in the top 10, but how is Stegent always left off bust lists? Easily the biggest draft bust in NFL history in my mind

I would add a couple other guys to that list, etothep.

R Jay Soward - WR - 29th pick overall on 2000 by Jacksonville. This was a bad pick from the start...a guy with an out of control lifestyle playing for Tom Coughlin? I receiver who might have to stand on a crate to look Gary Coleman in the eye? In the end, he might have had more arrests and team problems than catches.

John Avery - RB - 29th overall to Miami in 1998. I thought of this guy because he and Nash were actually traded for each other. One of the massive contingent of draft choices who the Dolphins picked over a few years. A sub 200 pound back had better be damn fast...Avery isn't.
