Yeah, but he came in as a linebacker and only really took over after Danelo passed away.

Apparently his physique and conditioning are about as impressive as his common sense.

I want to make fun, but for some reason I feel a bit more sad. When a athlete that basically has basically fame and fortune in front of him, seems to be completely throwing it away before even getting there. I wonder if he is mentally able to stand a place like the NFL.. I remember the Underwood guy, getting chance after chance and almost killing himself. Being a Raider fan, I also remember Barret Robbins, basically having a complete mental breakdown the day before the Super Bowl.

After his no-showing at the Combine?

Some of these kids just don't have the head on their shoulders to play in the NFL. All their god-given talent, and they just get by with the help of their 'friends'. We'll see how many friends he has when he doesn't get first-round money...

As I said, it's more cause of his poor Pro Day workouts than his leaving the combine

Well, it was also a legitimate mental health issue with Underwood, too...he was diagnosed as bipolar.

It could also be that he just doesn't want to play pro ball. Nothing wrong with that...of course, if that is the case it'd be nice if he'd just step up and say it.

if that's the case, why'd he hire an agent before bama's bowl game and come out early?

Probably figures he can cash in for an inaugural contract, then get out. That's what Antone Davis did in the early 90's...had no intention of having a long career. Finished off his first deal, then retired and I believe opened a restaurant somewhere.

That was the same case last year, but I hardly think Miami's disappointed in Jake Long.
