Congratulations! You have just paid Freddy Garcia to not pitch for your major league team! hehe.

I don't see why they even wasted their time to this deal even if it was just a minor league deal...

money is still money. The one thing I am grateful to him for is that he had some influence in bringing Felix over to the M's :P

It's a no-risk, medium-reward, that's why. A minor league salary is literally nothing for a major league team, and the upside is a solid #4 starter.

Yah - it's like the Bartolo Colon deals. Maybe he sucks and stays in AAA, but maybe he makes the bigs.

$9 mil with incentives tho...that is high. But he shouldn't get all or most of that.

If he winds up getting that much, it's because he was worth it.

I probably should have said it isn't a bad deal, but I don't know it just seems like they must have someone else who could fill this role.

What role would that be? Potential back-end starter? Yeah, sure, but you can never have too many of those guys.

hmm I guess so. Thinking about it more the deal sounds 'better', but I think I was just hoping they would have signed Sheets or Perez instead :P

This deal will have no bearing on whether or not they end up signing a guy like Sheets or Perez.

I know, I just meant I had hoped they had signed them. I didn't mean that this minor league deal would take money away from signing them :P
