I actually LIKE that, in roto at least (I've never played h2h as I said above). For one, it rewards people that pay attention to the league. For two, I like the strategy involved in identifying such "crappy pitchers" and getting the benefit out of them. I'm one of the most active when it comes to "transactions" in my fantasy leagues. In my 4 leagues last year:
League 1 - 52 moves, 6th out of 11 teams
League 2 - 74 moves, 2nd out of 12 teams. In this league, I missed the draft so my team was auto-picked. Of the 21 players, only 2 were the same between my drafted players and final roster (Jon Lester and Javier Vazquez).
League 3 - This league prevented ANY transactions. It was strictly "play what you draft."
League 4 - 103 moves, 1st of 12 teams.
I think the cap is much more effective and relevant for H2H leagues. No limit on the cap makes the playoffs a huge crapshoot.
In roto, I still think a cap is a good idea..but I think it should be a pretty lenient one..enough to allow you to make plenty of transactions..just not to the effect of having six starting pitchers literally every single day.
My runs created per 27 posts (RC/27p) was 12.4 last year. I should've been MVP.
