Agent says 8 teams have called about free agent
The Dodgers were able to defer his remaining 20 something million, meaning he will still get paid that amount just sometime down the road, and now he is able to sign with any team.

he was a terrible idea last year, why, unless getting very little should he get anything from another team? he shows up to spring training last year over weight and with an ego. I have very little patientce for that sort of behavior. that contract signing was a terrible idea, especially after his performance was slipping so much the previous season. Can he improve? yes, if he wants to.
exactly, which is why this can be a steal for the team (if any) that signs him. They could sign him for super cheap and not have risk, but all reward.

buy low, precisely. I was in here a month ago advocating the Sox to trade for him saying the Dodgers would eat much if not most of the contract. That was ridiculed, but hey...the Dodgers got nothing and ate all of it lol.
I'd still like the Sox to acquire him but with Baldelli its unlikely. Low risk, high reward.
Baldelli and Kotsay...yah, we're all set in the outfield. I don't want Jonesy.
I say let him go back to the Braves, or some smaller team that can afford to give him a starting slot and see if he can bring it back to major-league level. If not, hopefully he'll disappear or stay in the minors/independent league if he can't compete.
I don't think he cares where he play, MLB or not, he's still gonna get the 20+ million eventually that the Dodgers still owe him lol.
