To Bring a Title to Wrigley: A second chance

    “Mr. Bonds?”
“Yes. It is Barry. Whadda ya’ want?”
Usually, a GM would be trembling talking to this guy, but not me. “I talked to your agent, and I’d like to welcome you to the Cubs.”
“Ok, but I have no idea why you did that. I’m the best friggin’ hitter out there, but all this crap about some ‘steroids’…”
Yeah, right. I wouldn’t care if it was a definite he’d be locked up by the winter and we’d be looked at as crooks. Come on, we’re gonna’ win it all no matter what!

    *****

Barry gets an automatic place in left-field, moving Soriano to second base and DeRosa to the bench. I had a pretty good idea of my lineup, and the pitching staff, and I thought how easy it was going to be to beat my record for wins in a season. No, I had never been a GM before, or even worked int he front office, but I got my record of 88 wins in a game of Baseball Mogul while I was supposed to be working.

Wow, Soriano's probably the most expensive bench player in history then.

Oops, typo. He's the 2B now.

    ****************************************

    Ground Rules

    Gameplay:
    -2008 Chicago Cubs
    -Coach Difficulty
    -Manager difficulty for PBP

    Updates/Entries:
-I will play most games in PBP.
-I will update you on the team's progress every two weeks.

    Goals:
-Because of the new owners wanting to make a splash, the only
main goal is to win the World Series. That must be done or I will
    probably be fired.
    -Score 950 runs.
    -Allow less than 800.

    Restrictions:
-Only one signing of a free agent of an 85+ rating.
-Only one trade per season in which I get a 90+.
-Only one trade per offseason in which I get a 90+.

Note: This dynasty will mainly focus on the team, and not the storyline as my dynasties usually do. I jsut want to try a different style, the kind I only did with To Bring a Title to Wrigley, my first dynasty. Since I made it to the world series but lost in 6 games and did not get the chance at 2009 because of a file corruption, I am giving myself a second chance.

I colored it in Paint so I'm not looking at the same old schedule.

Or, you know, the 60s... when there were hippies, and tie-dye things were popular... but whatever dude.

Being such a big fan of history, you should know this though.
