Sonnanstine is nothing great...but to say he was mediocre is obviously incorrect and an overstatement. Over a 3/1 K:BB ratio over 190+ innings with a 102 ERA+ while pitching in the AL East is far from mediocre. He's a pretty solid #3 pitcher and an outstanding #4 pitcher in the Rays rotation. (or even an elite #5 pitcher if Price really does well..if you want to carry it that far).
Also, an FIP of 3.98 last year and 4.35 in his rookie season. He's a pretty nice young pitcher.
My runs created per 27 posts (RC/27p) was 12.4 last year. I should've been MVP.
People are more desperate to talk baseball than I thought? Can we be far from the "Who will be the first pinch hitter used by the Cardinals in 2009?" thread?
Seriously? So if I had said "Who will be the opening day pitcher for the Yankees? Sabathia or Wang?" It would be more relevent and interesting?
Because last time I checked the Rays did a hell of a lot better than the Yankees last year. I consider the Rays approach a lot more interesting and deep than the Yankees nuclear approach.

No, not at all. Not to me, at least. As a Red Sox fan, I am not the least bit interested in speculation as to who pitches for Boston on opening day either.

OK.

Wakefield has been a solid #5 guy in the rotation for several years now.
