Re: NFL Playoffs: Wild Card Round

Atl @ Arz .. Close like all of these but really, Atl has been pedestrian on the road (4-4) and Arizona has been real good (6-2), Turner's splits (600 yrd on the road, 3.9 YPC) aren't very good ... 62/101 (61%) 3td 5int 76.1 QBR--> Matt Ryan's very rookie looking stats over the last 4 games. Arz 30 ATL 20

Phi @ Minn .. Agian bad road team (3-5-1) vs good home team (6-2). Look I get that the eagles blasted Dallas, but also managed just 3 points vs Wash. Minny could get in trouble if they make early mistakes, but Minny coach (Childress) is an awful coach handles timeouts, clock management and 2 minutes drill awfully ... but Andy Reid taught him everything he knows so ... Minn 23 Phi 13

Indy @ SD .. SD maybe better than thier record ... or they may be worse.. its really hard to tell sometimes ..Indy is a vetran, well coached team that will easily nullify any homefield advantage the charges may have, SD is still just 8-8, and Indy 12-4 LDT is still hurt (anyone looks good vs Den D) and hes injured yet again. ... Indy 24 SD 17

Balt @ Mia .. Mia was 6-2 vs the lowlt AFC/NFC wests .. Mia got Hammered by Balt already, Mia can't attck the one weak spot in Balt's D (the deep pass), Balts losses came against Pit(twice) Tennesee, Giants, Indy (61-19 total) ->Dolpins were +28 in pts scored/allowed Balt was +141. Lucliky Flacco is a Rookie in the playoffs so the game mat be close Balt 23 Mia 16

Solid observation. But what about these spreads? They're tiny. I'd need at least 3 1/2 to take the home dog in any of these games.

These spreads seem to me like they're encouraging action on the home dogs that probably won't pan out for anyone betting them, while maintaining enough action on the favorites.

Then again, I don't know much about betting the NFL. In the rare situations that I have made sports bets in the past, it's almost always college football.

Interesting game so far. It's turning into a game of mistakes. Receivers dropping passes (one for an INT), terrible throws (2 INTs and 3 or 4 near-INTs), blown coverages, DBs slipping, OLs being beat by DLs before they even stand up. Atlanta was very sloppy in the first quarter but Arizona was even sloppier in the second quarter. Falcons are starting to execute that offense really well.

Incredible catch by Fitzgerald for that first TD.

Well, Arizona is running away with it. They finally get that they need to run the ball more to be successful

That was my reason for picking against them...they seemed to have forgotten about running the ball.

Arizona's defense was impressive. I didn't expect them to play well enough to shake up Matt Ryan and stop Michael Turner.

If they can play any sort of defense against Carolina or New York, they've got a good shot, since they have more than enough playmakers to score against good defenses.

I picked against them because I thought their defense would be on the field too long and have Turner run all over them.

Yea . Atl stuggled to run the ball (2.5 yrd/att) they put the game entirely in Ryans hands, and as good as he was he relied on alot of short passes (7.6 yrd/comp) and made a couple of mistakes (2int).

How f'in bad is Chris Collinsworth? I believe it was the fourth quarter, Ryan's deep pass to the right sideline which his reciever basically had to stop and wait for the ball and it eventually got picked off. Dumba$$ Collinsworth, what game is he watching claiming Ryan held on too long and hyping the 'great closing speed' of the ARZ cornerback!?!?!? ARE YOU KIDDING ME?? It was underthrown by about 20 yards for crying out loud. the most horrific commentating i've heard in some time.

He was talking about rodgers-cromartie's grat combine numbers prior to the draft (including 4.3 40 time which gives him great closing speed)...I didn't hear him say it was great closing speed on that play

he most certainly did...he spoke of the CB's great closing speed to catch the WR (who had to stop due to it being underthrown by about 20 yards) and that Ryan held onto the ball too long.
