No split, really, HGM...I'm assuming that the silent majority aren't even bothering to scoff, in this thread, at the supposition of a "curse"

I don't believe it's a curse, just ironic. However I did vote yes, since it seems that every year the irony strikes. Surely it's not a "curse" though...if anything how did John Madden himself survive all those years on the cover. Perhaps they should put him back on the cover and see what happens. lol

Maybe it will have a good effect on him, like curing his fear of flying.

actually it can down to confence record for the Pats in both cases -- thier 7-5 lost out to both Miami and the Ravens 8-4 records.

I know, but it should be Overall record that decides, in which case a tie breaker would have occurred. Why bother to even play out of conference if they are not going to get credit for it...?

because if you DO tie in that reguard... it goes down to common games... ig generaly never gets below that... and they cant add games... it woudld extend teh season ANOTHER game...

tho if they lopped off a spring training game and added another game it might help

[edit] no it wouldnt... i dont know what im talking about

    Re: Madden Curse

you might not mind it but the players union sure would. The purpose for it being conference record to me just seems that they want the teams that performed the best in the conference during the season. Those teams were Baltimore and Miami. New England went 7-5 to their 8-4. If you want to go to the NFC games I'll take Baltimore's 3-1 record over New England. The Pats got the NFC West...seriously while the Ravens went 3-1 against the NFC East.

Either way the 2 right teams are in the playoffs. Had New England taken care of their business and beat Miami earlier in the year or won another conference game there'd be no problem. Not to mention had New England gotten in over Miami you'd probably have no problem at all.

Bc football is like with any sport. ANYTHING CAN HAPPEN. i'm sorry but in my mind, anyone that believes in curses, ghosts etc is just an idiot.

Eh, curses, yeah, I'll agree...ghosts, and stuff like that, is a different category though.

    Yep.

Like I said earlier, if the question was "Does magic exist?" Or "Do witches/wizards/warlocks/sorcerers exist?" I'd bet that except for the random crazy vote for the hell of it, the results would be unanimous in the "No" direction.
