I'd like to see the Yankees sign Lowe and Manny. That would just about complete the job, methinks.

Why not? Maybe they can then purchase a small island nation where they can set up a genetic engineering lab to give their players wings.

It would definitely help, but I think their pitching rotation should be good enough.

Yeh, they need someone to take Burnett's spot for the 15+ starts he'll be missing next year

that article is from this morning, on ESPN they have since announced that they were not close...it will be interesting which will turn out to be right, if I were the yanks and the mets offered 80 mill I would offer 90, if nothing else to drive up the price on the mets and if I get him I can tell petite to go screw himself r take what we offered him...

There's been no word of any remotely serious talks between the Yankees and Lowe, though. The Yankees really would be much better signing Pettitte to a one year deal than grabbing Lowe at this stage.

I never said their was word that the yankees were seriously considering lowe, merely that they should be.

Lowe's likely not going to repeat that performance in the AL East.

"There's a groundball up the middle...base hit."..."Ground ball... past a diving Cano." "Ground ball... just out of the reach of Derek Jeter."

Tex is great defensively, but even he can't make up for the "Keystone Cops" up the middle and the third baseman who's afraid of popups.
