A few things I've noticed from the Teix signing.

    1) Apparently Yankee fans define themselves by the Red Sox now. Seeing how the first thing many did was to say "In your face Boston"....last time I checked, the Rays won the division last year.

    2) You'd think from the acclaims of joy that the Yankees actually won something. I mean really....how can you stand up and cheer over a few penstrokes? I mean it's not the stinking NBA lottery...I can see getting excited over that but...."YES! WE PUT IN THE HIGHEST BID!! YES! WE ROCK!"?? Seriously?

But. Whatever, makes for very interesting viewing. Good luck in Tampa. Every bit of **** the Sox took down there will be tripled everytime the Yanks play there.

They also claim that we spend as much as them. Funny, who was the one that paid over $200 Million? They are hypocrites

I agree, Boston isnt the team to be worrying about if you are New York, its Tampa. I really think Tampa hasnt reached their full potential because they are a very young team outside of their bullpen, which btw was the best in the AL last year.

I see Evan Longoria winning the MVP this year, I think hes going to be a monster.

Boston and New York fans truly hate each other.

I hate New York as much as the next guy and the only thing that has annoyed me about Yankee fans from this off-season is the "DECLARE US WORLD CHAMPIONS!" and "PLAN THE PARADE" things they have been saying (not exclusively this forum).

But I can understand getting excited over a free agent signing...I mean you did just get a big player. Much like Sox fans going bonkers over winning the DiceK bonanza two years ago...

You guys did spend... alot though. You won the World Series in 07 with quite alot of pricey free agents...
Like whom? Lowell and Beckett were trades. Ellsbury, Youk, Pedroia, Lester, Pap are all home grown. The only major free agent deal before the 07 season I can think of is DiceK and JD Drew who weren't great in 07. The Sox have a high payroll but I don't believe 06-07 off-season was that big of a free agent year for them...

Those are the teams that spent over 100 mil... the Red Sox are 4th on that list, so you guys really can't talk...

    Lugo

Those were the FA's on the field for game 4...Ortiz too if you want to count him, even though he was a castoff.

Nobody's talking, or at least that's not a point I'm making. I'm not playing the payroll card

Mike Lowell, Coco Crisp, and a bunch of your hitters weren't always Red Sox, they weren't free agents tho, they were traded to Boston...

Pitchers too dude... Dice-K you stole from Japan, Schilling from Arizona, Wakefield I believe you got from Pittsburgh, Beckett from Florida....

Okajima (and now Hiroki Kuroda) are even more people you are bringing in to try and manufacture a world series win...

Schilling was a trade, Wakefield a FA I think something like 16 frigging years ago. Beckett was a trade. Yes Dice-K and Oki were FA's.

*sigh* The Tigers are third on that list , I guess getting Cabrera and Willis didn't work out too well.

Sorry I know it's off topic, I just needed to mention that. I hope the Yankees get 5th place, but with all their money they won't.

And again you're trying to create an argument where there is none. No one is saying the Sox don't sign FA's, and no one is saying the Sox don't have a high payroll. Neither one of those were among the two points I made.
