If it's going to continued to be treated as is, you're basically just recreating ejections with the coherent, intelligent discussion still being lumped together with the stupid, pointless crap, and the whole point of OiLF, originally, was to separate those two things so the good discussion wouldn't get dragged down by the stupid crap.

For example, I don't see why stuff like "Leverage" and even "Music War" are in the OiLF forum. Those are (mostly) clear, thoughtful discussions. But stuff like " Someone has waaayyyy too much time on their hands (a must see!)" and "I'm really anxious" are still in ejections. The whole point of my thread was mostly just for me to vent my stress and get some advice when people felt like giving it, and the light show one was clearly just something cool to show the other posters.

Well, I can only really speak for myself here. I'm only doing what feels "right" to me personally. If there's a clear difference of opinion between what seems natural to me and what the community as a whole wants, then of course the community "wins".
The way it is, I'm at least somewhat interested in what is posted in OiLF, though. I know that I'm getting Politics, news, religious, and other "serious" discussion in Ejections, and more lighthearted and inconsequential discussion in OiLF... it seems more natural to me this way, although now that I look at the descriptions I can see what you guys are saying. As I mentioned above, I do support changing the description of Ejections now, regardless of anything else. We should come to a clear consensus decision before recommending any change, however.

Well, discussing anything on an online discussion board is "inconsequential", but as I understood it, the whole point of OiLF, originally, was to be a "junk/other drawer" for things like forum games, funny/interesting videos, perhaps a place for people to vent, and then Ejections was for good discussion about anything (aside from sports, obviously there's already a forum for that), anything from music to politics to religion to TV to whatever.

I do need to address this. It does take time and attention to make a decision on each individual thread. Regardless of what else may or may not happen, from here on out the threads should be more clearly differentiated between the two sub-forums. Existing threads will be hit or miss, however, simply because of the volume of threads. Now that you mention those two threads though, the next time I see them (which is probably in the next 30 seconds) I'll probably move them...

Okay this has been bugging me lately... the mods have been moving basically every non news-related thread to OiLF... I brought this up once before, but it bears repeating... I thought Out in Left Field was intended for the truly crazy/post padding threads, but now it's basically everything that's not about news or politics, which is ridiculous... I think we should set Ejections aside for rational discussion about all issues (news, politics, TV, movies, music) and set OiLF aside for forum games/ joke threads/padding threads/ threads where the discussion gets off-topic or crazy in some way
