Nats Offer Tex 8 Years, $160M

WTF???? Are you kidding me??? The NATS

If you would've given me 30 guesses as to which team would make this offer, I still wouldn't have guessed the Nats.

EDIT: LOL, somebody's math is off here. It says 8 years, $160M, for an average of $22.5M per year. Ahhm, 8 years at $160M would be an average of $20M per year, at least in the OLD math.

MLBTR says 180M and then changed it to 160

    Baltimore offered 9 years 160

Jayson Stark, one of the only ESPN employees who I actually think has a brain, expects the Nat's to be the highest bidder on Tex'. If that's so, it bodes well for the Nat's with Boras as his agent.

Hopefully he can produce in Capitol Hill, as they haven't had much offense in recent memory.

I dunno, personally I've found Capitol Hill to be quite offensive recently, IMO.

Tex was born 27 miles from Nationals Park. With Zimmerman playing college ball at the University of Virginia. That'd give them a pretty local flavor. That, coupled with a chance to win, might get some fans into that fancy new stadium.

I have it, on good authority, that the Nats have put in for a $700 billion bailout

I hope he becomes a National, I want to see them do good, or at least earn SOME respect.

I think this is all a cruel ploy to dash OFG's hopes and dreams.

This gives them good defense on the corners as well as a very solid base for a team. Millege/Tex/Zimmerman/Flores are all guys who, going forward, can bring some serious talent to this team.
