He does have a vote, according to his article, and has for 18 years.....

Jim Kaat is trying to compete with Jenkins, apparently. Scott Brosius provided more value to the Yankees than Alex Rodriguez has. That's right. And Brosius won't make the HOF while A-Rod will "because of his numbers, not his value."

Re: We have a winner for title of "Biggest Idiot Ever"

My point in covering the Yankees as a TV analyst during the years of both of them, and this not being disrespectful of Alex's accomplishments, is that Brosius did more to help the Yankees win games than Alex has done. Wow! What a preposterous statement! It's the little things that players do to help their team win games, advance runners, a timely single or sacrifice fly late in the game, and a key defensive play. Scott did that. Alex hasn't as often.

Scott won't be inducted into the Hall, Alex will, and because of the numbers and not their value to their team. Hold your head high, Ron Santo. You were a helluva player, just out by a step.
Wow.... Lol! I would rather take 500 HRs then a "Timely single" or a "Sac Fly" any day!

Kaat sucked when he played for my historical team. He couldn't handle the pressure.

This thread attracted me due to the mention of great player Marco Scutaro

But these are the dumbest articles I have read in a while. Biggio is a first ballot hall of famer and anyone who says different shouldn't have a vote.

Exactly! And yes, Scutaro is awesome. How can you not like someone named Marco Scutaro? And he is a decent player, can play several positions.

Scutaro and Nick Punto are my favorite players to talk about, their names are too much fun.

I wish they were on the same team.

"Scutaro to Punto to Swisher for the 6-4-3 double play"

    Awesome.

I was sad when he left Oakland. I love Houston using the word, "batshit" lol.

Imagine if they were on the same team with Radhames Liz, another interesting name .

Edit: OR Scutaro to Punto to Garko!

My problem is that I agree with most of what he said. There shouldn't be a veteran's committee, a player should be eligible for maybe 5 or 10 years instead of 15. And then he just throws in the Brosius-ARod comparison and makes himself look like a complete *****. And now I'm doubting myself - if I can agree with him about anything, is there still hope for me?

I loved this comment in the article:
If you require a set of numbers to make a case for someone, you're probably trying too hard. More often than not, players strike a Hall of Fame look by their fifth or sixth year in the league. You see them play, watch how they carry themselves, hear tributes of respect from other players, and you just know.
You insist that there is something a machine cannot do. If you will tell me precisely what it is that a machine cannot do, then I can always make a machine which will do just that! -J. von Neumann

Ichiro should have only played 4 seasons then.

This guy has a job how?

I completely agree, he deserves that title.
