If you take "Babe Ruth" and then transport him to 2008, and re-make his life so that he was brought up in modern society with access to everything modern players have, is he even "Babe Ruth" anymore?

Thats alot of if's. How does one know he'd have the work ethic needed? Many have the talent but don't wanna work for it.

My statement was, take a guy from that era and put him in the batters box against a 3rd rate pitcher and he wouldn't bat his weight, or even half his weight in Ruth's case.

I'm just saying, there's really know way to know whatsoever. Any discussion about this sort of thing is blind guessing, really.
