My eyes totally looked over his name in the Blyleven line. My apologies.
Murphy got THREE votes? He's my alltime fave player, but even with the two MVP awards and enough charity work to get all the 70's Braves in heaven....he's really barely even a fringe candidate.
Yep. It's true. Dale Murphy had a far better peak. In fact, Murphy was arguably baseball's best player, period, for two seasons. Back-to-back MVPs and CF GG's, one of the greatest 5-tool guys ever. Even outside of those two years, he had a great career. It's just too bad he died out so soon, or he'd be a total lock.
I've said it before... Dale Murphy is as good as a player can possibly be without making the Hall of Fame.
oh man Mo Vaughn, I somehow forgot about him.
Jesse Orosco actually made me think for a minute. Although he's hardly HOF-worthy, I wonder if the record for most appearances, not to mention a fantastic career as a middle reliever and a few years as a topnotch closer, will keep him on the ballot for a few extra years. Plus, he was a crucial piece of two championship teams...
Well it looks like it's Just Rickey now...at least Rick thinks Rickey has a lock.
He would agree with you!
Henderson, Raines, McGwire. The other guys just aren't Hall of famers.
Henderson, Blyleven, Morris, Raines.
