    I'm really anxious

I'm supposed to hear back from Springfield College (my top college choice) shortly after December 1st, and I'm really anxious about it.

Maybe making this thread and talking about it will help calm and settle the anxiety, that's what I'm hoping for at least.

    Re: I'm really anxious

There have been quite a few kids from my high school that have gone there in recent years, and my brother went there for a semester before he dropped out (didn't plan well and no financial aid so he ran out of money). Not saying that will help me any, but just saying.

I applied early decision in mid-October (early decision applications weren't due until December 1st), so I do have the benefit of showing interest and getting my application out extremely early. My essay was really good and my grades between this year and last year have been very good, including 3 AP classes, so I think I've got as good a chance as anyone. I hope so anyways, it's where I've wanted to go since I've known it existed, basically.

    Best of luck to you.
I had to settle for my #2 on my list. Well....maybe 3. Anyway after my disappointment I treated it as if it was where I wanted to be and it worked out very well for me. After your in the work force a few years that track record is way more important than school. Keep a positive outlook for plan 'A' but keep plan 'B' in the back of your mind.

I'd be just as happy if I got into my #2 school, which is UMass-Amherst, but Springfield is definitely option #1.

I think that ATG gives excellent advice...Y.D. If you still feel the need to talk about it, why not discuss it with those who have been there, done that? (your brother and other Springfield attendees)

Whatever happens in your future, Y.D. , may it be good.

Finding out online would be 10x easier and probably faster too, but I'm finding out via snail mail.

How good of a college is it? It is not far from me, but I have not heard much of it, nor never considered it.

    Re: I'm really anxious

It's a pretty good school, almost certainly the top sports studies school in New England and possibly the country.

It's a D-3 school known primarily for it's academics, so I'm not surprised you've never heard of it. As I said above, it's known mostly for having some of the top sports studies programs in the country. I'm planning on studying Sports Management, and it's only a few hours from home for me, so it instantly became my top choice once I started looking at colleges my sophomore year.

Only 63% of applicants were admitted last year, and academically I stack up pretty well with the numbers it shows on collegeboard.com, my math SAT score was a little low comparatively, but other than that I stack up very well. My problem with getting in will be my extracurricular activities, or lack thereof. They strongly considered what extracurricular activities you undertook while in High School, and I didn't have ANY until this year, but hopefully my grades make up for it.
