The Tigers and Astros made a trade early this morning that would send LF Gary Sheffield (80), 3B Carlos Guillen (83), and C Vance Wilson (77) to the Astros for LF Carlos Lee (86) and IF Geoff Blum. Blum will start at 3B. The Tigers saved 8M in this trade. Lee will start at LF.

The Tigers and Cubs agreed on a trade that would send RF Magglio Ordonez (88) and 2B Mike Holliman (76/84) to the Cubs for RP Carlos Marmol (84/91). Marmol is expected to go straight to the Bullpen. The Tigers saved 16.5M in this deal.
