If I'm the Yanks I don't do the trade. Doesn't mean you shouldn't at least offer it though, maybe he'll take it

I wouldn't take the trade. The Yankees had Marquez in their starting rotation. I don't think they'd feel the same about White

If you offered a similar prospect who wasn't on the verge of death(HORRIBLE Health), I think it would take it.

But without the .mog it's hard to say.

You're making the trade because you need a cheap alternative at starter, and have three players eligible for free agency. We don't know about the Yankees. They have those types of concerns too. What young pitchers do they have in the system to replace Marquez, etc...

2 questions. First, How'd you get White OFF the Yankees? IRL if the Yankees traded him once, they probably don't want to trade for him again. Especially not if they are paying more than they received. Second, why don't YOU use White as your starter, his contract status would appear to be similar to Marquez'?
All valid points. I got white because the yanks desperately needed a 2B and i had a surplus there and needed a decent spot starter, so i gave them adam kennedy (79) plus a lefty RP (77/80). I think them not wanting him back in real life isnt necessarily true-it happens often enough when they liked the guy they traded away but needed to to get the previous deal thru. I dont think the yanks status on young SP is relevant because they are getting about the same in return and plus a young reliever. I think ive given just about all the info needed, but since you want to know the yanks have a couple young SPs with ratings of ( 77/81, 76/85) in their farm. Its looking like the concensus is that this trade is denied. I may have to see what else i can add to it.

BTW, thanks for all the input guys, i much prefer trading this way.

I know they'd take it but the idea is to not take advantage of the AI and make it more challenging.

Im going to add more to the deal and see what ya'll think.

What if i offered one of my best defensive subs and lefty hitter:

He could actually start in right field for them i think since the current incumbent is aging and just fell to 71 ovr. They have a couple decent OFs (75,79) but both play RF under 80 rating so mitch would atleast be a short term solution for them and since they havent made an effort yet to improve in RF it may be their only one.

If you included Maier, I would agree to the trade as the Yankees... it seems fair for both sides. Since this is 2009 in your game, without seeing the MOG file, I am predicting that the Yankees still have a deep, highly rated minor league system, especially on the pitching side. I seem to remember having to force trade or release some of the players they kept in their system long after they would have become six year minor league free agents, so it's not as if them giving up Marquez for a (pitching) prospect that is farther away would harm them that much, especially since Marquez was just put in the rotation it looks like.

Haha, for whatever reason I thought this was for seeing if bmo leage offers were fair.

If you want to make a realistic trade, then you'd have to give up more than what I deem fair asking price if White is part of the deal as I find it hard to stomach a team trading a player away & then trading back for him just a year or 2 later. Yeh, White, Maier & the prospect could be fair

I'd still be out. Not in terms of talent, but in team needs.

White is "a guy", 80 OVR starting pitchers are a dime a dozen. The reliever-I'm not taking a guy with a 55 health. Maier I like (mostly cause he was a stud for me when I did a game with the Royals), but he's pretty average really.

2 for 1 against. The jury is still out.
