One voter voted for Randy Johnson and nobody else, which is why he remains unanimous.

Also, I'm intrigued that KowboyKoop chose Hershiser...

A guy that seems to be very educated when it comes to baseball; I'd be curious to hear his argument for Hershiser.
I'm not big on the HOF. Don't put too much stock into my selections...I don't even care about the issue that much..I think everything about the Hall of Fame is kind of silly. I'm sure the six guys I picked aren't actually the "correct" top six or eight or whatever..... I worry more about the actual game than I do about comparing players to other eras or any "who's better" games. Just not my thing...I'm not nearly as knowledgable in this area of the game as other posters here....

I'm sure if I studied all the numbers really closely....I'd find that Hershiser easily isn't as good as other candidates of the poll...but I didn't..I just picked some names.

I totally agree OFG. If I had to take one & only one pitcher from this group, it would be Maddux, followed closely by Pedro

Just like it makes sense for you to say that teams around or below .500 are good teams.

But you know Swampy maybe youre right about the teams I mentioned not being historically bad clubs and that I dont know my history. Ill go back and read about the Dynasty Cleveland teams of the 1980's and the Texas Dynasty of the 70's. Because like you said they are great teams, ill do some better research next time.

I'd just like to clarify something. Swampdog never said that the teams you listed were good teams. He said that the teams Blyleven played for were OVERALL good (ie. if you add up the records of each team he played for, it's over .500).

All I said was he spent a lot of his years playing for bad teams as well, which does reflect on his total win loss record. If he wasnt so condescending in his tone, I really wouldnt of got him started lol.

What puzzles me is why you seem to aspire to look sillier and sillier with each post. You could have just accepted that you made a ridiculous comment, and got called on it, and exit the discussion gracefully. I guess you were unable to do that. Instead, you pretend not to understand english. Then again, perhaps you dont. English may be your second language. If so, my apologies. If not, then I dont know if your responses are more pitiful or comical.

    This ends the conversation.

In that case, the following pitchers would be elected to the Hall of Fame, with the highest vote total first:

    Randy Johnson
    Greg Maddux
    Pedro Martinez
    Roger Clemens/Tom Glavine
    John Smoltz

Mike Mussina would fall short on our Hall of Fame ballot.

I only voted for who I thought would eventually make it to the HOF. My standards are higher than the voters....(baseball writers)

There are better ways to prove your point than berating people. I said something and yes you did call me out on it, but is it really necessary to do so in that manner? I dont know, maybe you get your jollies on being a jerk to people. But hey who am I to judge, ill leave it to you, which you seem to do a lot of.

    Have a nice day!

Oh and save your next post, I know what its going to be, oh he gets dummer and dummer every post, (Enter jerk comment here, etc.) Blah blah blah nonsense. So spare me of it.

    Now have a nice day
