    Only in Phillie

If you play a game, shouldnt you know the rules? You make 10 million a yr and the average US human makes 35K! Even my dumb ass knew about the tie rule. Donovan deserves Terrence for life. Maybe they can explore the beauty of a Hyper-Baric chamber together?

And its not like it hasn't happened before, the last tie game was in 2002, and Mcnabb was in the league at that time.

I'm tired of hearing about this, it's like philly fans want to replace him and expect whoever takes his place to be the new Matt Ryan (Donovan and Ryan's stats are eerily similar actually if you look at them) or something. The thing is, you replace him with most other QBs and that offense just becomes worse than it already is.

As long as he can get the job done I don't see why it should be a problem there. He has played well enough to help them get 5-4-1 which is a lot better than a lot of teams out there right now.

I understand its ridiculous he didn't know that rule but it seems like everybody is overreacting a bit too much.

Agreed with 200tang. So what if he didn't know the rule? It's kind of dumb you should know them but to have several discussions on ESPN about it and have several stories written about it is excessive.

Much ado about nothing. There are plenty of rules in all sports that players dont know...and many coaches dont know. It is hardly shocking to me that McNabb did not know that you only play one quarter in the event of a tie.

Besides, he didn't even have to say anything about it. He chose to make a comment, and he is going to be persecuted and ridiculed for that? Dumb. Did it cost his team anything? A game? Any points? No, it did not.

Remember when Pittsburgh's Barry Foster misplayed a kick return, I think in 1990? He let a kickoff roll past him into the endzone, and a San Francisco player fell on the ball for a 49'er touchdown. Foster treated the kickoff like it was a punt...he jumped away to avoid touching it. Now, THAT was an example of a stupid error that cost his team.

I'm waiting for the day someone doesn't know you can fair catch a kick off and kills someone trying to do so.

Even Parcells didn;t know about the free kick after a fair catch/Free Kick rule, While vastly more obscure than overtime rules, I'm not sure why this is a big deal, unless you assume Mcnabb was juts dogging it in the OT and waiting for the 2nd one.

( for those that don't know, if a player fair catches a kick the recieving team can attempt a free uncontested Field goal from the spot of the catch even after time has expired)

I think this might be the last year of McNabb in Philly. It's becoming evident that this team needs to move on and build around a new core, and they did just use their top pick on another QB.

IF Childress is still the head coach. A new coaching staff might look in a different direction.
