    Cubs/Marlins swap pitchers

The Marlins salary dumps continue as they send Kevin Gregg to the Cubs for young pitching prospect Jose Ceda.

Not much to say on this.

Im not to sure about this personally for the Cubs... maybe someone can help me LOL.... First of all I know Ceda is a very good prospect second of all... I know Gregg blows lots of saves kinda scary because thats what Cubs always like to get are Closers who will have you biting your nails at the end of the game.... and Im thinking they are thinking Wood is going to walk because of this move. To have Marmol and Gregg.

I hope, for the sake of the damn, dirty cubs that Ceda turns into an all-star

If the Cubs are smart, they'll use Marmol to close and put Gregg in middle relief where he'll be an asset.

This pretty much makes Lindstrom the closer, without question, for the Marlins. A role I'm interested in seeing him in. He broke into it very late this season, so I assume, barring a collapse in ST, he's the guy.

The Cubs really needed to improve their bullpen, so this is a good move for them. For the Marlins, well... it's a typical Marlins move.

Agreed... the Cubs likely didn't make this move with the idea of putting Gregg as their closer.

Yeah, it sounds like Wood is gone.

I'd say Wood goes to Texas or Houston.

I don't think Wood is going to get much attention, actually... but whichever team ends up with him will have made a pretty good investment in my opinion.

If I was a GM I would never sign him unless desperate, he is Waaaay to much of a risk and will want too much money

Except he probably isn't going to GET a lot of money (nobody is giving him a long term deal), so you could probably get him for a year at a decent rate.

Shouldn't you make a decision about whether or not to sign him only AFTER knowing how much he wants (in both length and amount)?

I believe he has a man named Boras as an agent...

    My question still stands.
