    Re: Concerts You've Been To

Hmm...let me try to make a quick list of recent ones:

    John Mayer / Paramore (ugh)
Dave Matthews, Ben Harper and Ozomatli (Boston)
Dave Matthews with someone else (Hartford)
    Charlotte Symphony Orchestra
    Tool (with my mom)
    Tori Amos / Howie Day
    John Cowan band
    Guster
    Edwin McCain
    Glen Phillips/Antje Duvekot
    Matchbox 20 / Jayhawks
    Gaelic Storm
    Nickel Creek / Blues Traveler
And going to see Duncan Sheik next week.

That's it from recent memory, plus tons of local/smaller/opening bands, and of course all the bands that have gone on before/after me. So whatever 5 years of random shows can get you.

The five best shows I ever saw, in order, were Guns N' Roses, Sigur Ros, Van Halen, Imogen Heap, and Butch Walker. The worst show, and worst live band, I've seen would be Dokken. Pretty odd, since I've seen them three times, but they're always the damn opening band on some great rock tours. I fell asleep during their set once at a show. Don Dokken has no stage presence at all and is clueless on working the crowd.

The band I wish I remembered seeing was Wildside. I hosted the Metal Sludge Extravaganza 10 (MSEX) in Cleveland on New Year's Eve (2004/2005), and they played on New Year's Eve. Needless to say, I was beyond wasted, so I don't remember anything at all. Too bad since they're one of my favorite bands of all-time, and Drew Hannah is an amazing lead singer. I'll probably never see them again since they broke up since that time.

The band that I wish I would have seen, but didn't (and never will) was Betty Blowtorch. I didn't get into them until it was too late... after Bianca Halstead (the lead singer) was killed in a car accident by a drunk driver in late 2001. They're also one of my favorite bands of all-time... probably in my top 5, if not 3. Sad I'll never see them live except via DVD.

    Re: Concerts You've Been To

Wow, I'm going to have to use that stupid 'memory' thing.

Henry Rollins (spoken word) - probably five times now.
    Billy Idol
    International Noise Conspiracy
...And You Will Know Us By The Trail of Dead
Silvertide (opened for Motley Crue. Most predictable live show ever)
    Motley Crue - twice
    Sum 41
    The Exies
    Twisted Sister
Ben Harper & the Innocent Criminals
    Ryan Adams - twice
    Diana Krall
    BB King - twice
    James Brown
    David Bowie
    Nine Inch Nails - twice
Crystal Castles (opened for NIN this year...maybe the worst live act I've ever seen)
Queens of the Stone Age - three times
    Foo Fighters
    Tragically Hip
    Death From Above 1979
    Garth Brooks
    Alan Jackson
    Chuck D (spoken word)
    Keb Mo
    Robert Cray - twice
    The Funk Brothers
    Kenny Wayne Shepherd
    Social Distortion
    The Tea Party
    Green Day
    Econoline Crush - twice
    Danko Jones
    Tool
    Metallica
    The Roots
    Matthew Good
    Jesse Cook
    The Donnas
    Eric Clapton
    Neil Diamond
    Against Me!
    I Mother Earth
    Velvet Revolver
    Gwar
    Weird Al
    Mudhoney
    Hawksley Workman - twice
    Audioslave
    Sebastien Bach

Some of those were at festivals where I've forgotten half the damn bands who performed, so I know I'm leaving a fair number out. Also, I have seen lots of local bands in bar shows.

    Re: Concerts You've Been To

    Ac/dc- twice
    Motley Crue- twice
    Poison- 3 times
    LA Guns
    Scorpions- twice
    Ratt
    Great White
    John Cougar
    Hank Williams Jr
    Cinderella
    Jimmy Page & Robert Plant

There's probably 15-20 more. My mother is a business manager for Clear Channel Communications and we used to get free tickets to every concert in Nashville and Memphis for about 3-4 years, she has now transfered to Virginia Beach and the free ride is over.

    Re: Concerts You've Been To

The best I can do just by using my faulty memory. I'm sure this is less than a third of the bands I've seen. I've been to multiple multiple band festivals (ozfest, edgefest, etc...). I used to go to a show about every weekend when I was 22-28 and living in Albuquerque

    Godsmack
    Green Day
    Groove Ghoulies

    I'm sure he's not lying.

I've probably left some bands off my list too, but I got nearly all of them. There's 267 bands I have listed, and a good amount of them are local bands.

Coldplay was great... but they had Duffy open... odd choice for an opening act, IMO

Not too bad a choice...they probably are playing to the same audience, generally.
