Because they are in bigger markets. Of course they will sell out to 50,000 fans...more people are able to go the games. In st. louis we never boo....cards were in last we wouldn't be booing our own team. I was at game four of the 04 world series...surrounded by red sox fans...those are the only nice red sox fans I have ever met personally. Across the country the red sox nation has grown bc they have been winning....now tampa has the same thing...a lot of people would not be yankee fans if they didn't have their past. But they have more bandwagon fans, they also have more fans in general then most other teams.

AND they've been the second or highest drawing AL visiting team since 2000...2000, that's four years before they won the World Series. So let's can all the BS 'since they won the World Series blah blah blah' talk.

Booing? Half those people were actually booing Francona for his boneheaded moves in game 2...and deservedly so. The other half were saying "Youk".

Francona could have very possibly have lost the series in Game 2, when he did his best Grady Little impersonation while allowing Beckett to be pounded for 8 runs in less than 5 innings. I told a friend of mine that it is very likely that that game getting away would be costly, and....

So, I was in Kobenhavn this weekend, and talking to a Danish guy who went to St, Louis last year. He went to a game knowing nothing about American baseball. The thing that made the biggest impression on him was "the little kids swearing at the tops of their lungs while the parents ate sausages".

However, I won't play the 'we'd have won the Series if it wern't for game 2' card.

No one knows what would have happened if Beckett had come out early or Timlin hadn't come in....nor do we know what would have happened even if the Sox had won game 2.

All I ask of a manager is not to make 'Grady-like' mistakes. Hell, if you watch Game 7, 2003...you can see that Pedro still had SOME oomph. Beckett had nothing.
