Moneyball: The Movie?

This is about the dumbest concept for a Hollywood movie I've seen since hearing that THIS children's book is apparently going to be turned in to one.

I love some of the reviews that book got...

1 Star- Left My Child Very Confused...
First of all, what's up with the apple on the cover of this book? My child now thinks that not just everyone, but everyTHING poops! I have explained to him at least 4 times now that no, apples do not poop, but he continues to tell his friends. The other day he saw a squirrel with an acorn, and he asked me if the acorn was tree poop. This book, while sort of funny, is obviously misleading. The illustrations also portray pooping to be a very jolly event, and my child, who I was trying to potty train at the time that I read him this book, think's it's very cute to poop in his pants, and everywhere else for that matter. I do not recommend this book to any parents trying to teach their child about potty training.

Honestly, if you're reading this book, you're in need of serious psychiatric help. This book should only be read by the most hard-core of poop fetishists, as it contains words that no self-respecting sailor would use. This is terrible. "POOP" STINKS

This book rocks. I have never read such an intriging book on the stuff that comes out of the anus. I love having it read to me on Christmas morning. It is a great conversationalist piece, and fun for the whole family. By "Everyone poops" and it will surely become a family heir-loom!

Wow...having 'read' this book with my nieces and nephew (it's not much of a read...just page after page of various animals taking a dump, to show kids that they aren't the only ones who do it), I'm rather awestruck by that second one you quoted. Documentaries don't usually have actors....

It will be a "sort" of mad-scientist movie with Beane being the "genius" good guy revolutionising baseball v the bad guys eg scouts/MLB establishment.

Sub-plots of "success" & "failure" of the Moneyball draftees - feel good for some (eg Swisher,Blanton & Teahan) & "bad"/failure for others (eg Steve Obenchain,'fat' Jeremy Brown & awful John McCurdy) inter-linked with the back-drop of the A's.
