He doesn't?!?and also has much fewer (if any) steroid rumors surrounding him.

I've never heard any steroid accusations related to Sosa. That's like accusing Griffey of using steroids...

There's been several guys caught with corked bats. Now I could see the steroid thing much more so than using a corked bat all the time, bats break to often anymore to try that to much.corked bat
Who was the guy that broke a bat and a bunch of rubber balls sprayed the infield?
At that age pretty big injury risk, probably not worth the money risk.
I think Juan Gonzales had the same thing happen with him near the end of his career. It wasn't colluding then.
Bond was really bad defensively the last few years that's why he needed to goto the AL and DH. No one could risk him playing left field.
Graig Nettles
On September 7, 1974, Nettles, then with the New York Yankees, was caught using a bat that had six superballs inside it. He said that he had received the bat from a Yankees fan in Chicago and did not know that the bat had been altered.

He's an injury risk, and while he may not the the 'clubhouse cancer' the media has made him out to be, he WILL bring such a superheated media presence to any team that signs him that it CAN'T HELP but be a distraction. So, is he really worth it considering all that?
I also find it hard to believe Barry would be all that willing, at this stage of his career, to play for a small market team with no hope in Hell of winning.
