    Rays Offense

Where does it rank in the AL? After this season, I think they can come in and esily be a Top 3 offense next year, with a very solid 1-6. Bartlett is the ideal 9th hitter, and Friedman has built the perfect balance of catalysts and power hitters.

I think they can get 1,000 runs next season. Anyone agree?

    NO way.

Don't overreact to these couple of games that they're demolishing Boston in.

Yeah, there is no chance of a 1,000 run season. BTW, how many teams have done it before?

I'm not. Boston is ice cold. They're pitching is doing terrible. Look at their lineup, and think of what this kind of lineup is capable of.

7 teams. Besides the Yankees of the 1930's, only 3 other teams have done it.

A lot of people said "Look what this lineup is capable of" about the Tigers this season, predicting a 1,000 run season. The bottom line is 1,000 runs is A LOT, and it takes a ridiculously great offensive team AND a lot of luck. The Rays are highly unlikely to reach 1,000 runs, especially considering they scored ~750 this year, and aren't going to be THAT much better next year (though they will be better).

Why did we all buy the Tigers' hype? They had Granderson as their only leadoff guy. Miggy is still growing. Mainly, it was stupid because their pitching was weak with Zumaya and Jones being questionable for the first few months.

What does their pitching have to do with whether or not they'd score 1,000 runs?

The point is, 1,000 runs is unrealistic to expect from any team.

Miggy is still growing?? Is that supposed to be a good thing?? Their pitching. Are they supposed to have multiple leadoff hitters!!?!?!?

The Tigers offense was massively overhyped b/c it was L-O-A-D-E-D on paper. They did finish 4th in the AL in runs scored......their offense was good.

Thinking the Rays might score 1000 runs next year is ridiculous. VERY ridiculous.

Of course it was, if you looked at the stats about 4 guys have career years in 2007 and had no hope of replecating the those numbers in 2008, add in that Sheffeild and Pudge (2 guys they were counting on to be offesive powerhouses) were on the far side of the "past there prime".

it all added up to a team that wasn't really any better than the 2007 version.

1,000 runs is laughable. That would be mind boggling to ever baseball expert and analyst. They would have to change some rules or something if that happened lol. Well maybe not quite that. I just hope B.J Upton can get his shoulder back 100% and start hitting fastballs. If so then watch out. 40/40. YEA I SAID IT

Yeah, you're right, but EVERY "expert" was on the 1,000-run bandwagon before the season started..and that's why. They were foolish and expecting Rays to score 1,000 next year would be more foolish.
