    Rays-Phillies?

I sense a great disturbance in The Force....as if hundreds of TV execs had jumped out the windows.

Lot of baseball left to be played, but not looking good for the Sox. Without the zen of Manny ('It's just a game') or Beckett to fall back on....sallright, I'm glad they made it this far. Maybe in the offseason, they can take a hard look at themselves and learn not to be so intractable. Specifically Tito, Beckett, Papi and Ellsbury....Tek is hopeless.

Its actually the match up I am hoping for. Not a fan of either team but as far as AL teams go, the Rays would be my favorite. And of the NL teams that made it I like the Phillies the best.

I would hate to listen to all the hype if the Bosox went back to back

Listen carefully and you can hear MLB and the networks vomiting at the prospect of this series.

I disagree. Sure they'd prefer a NY or Bos market but Philly is a good market and the Rays are the kind of story that draws viewers. This isn't nearly as bad as the Detroit / St. Louis series IMO.

Lets see how these Rays man-up now that the prospects of actually going to the dance is only a game away. Can one of those young pitchers step up and close the deal??

Hey, i've been doubting these kids all year long...I'm a realist and think they will win it but its by no means a slam-dunk. The real metal of the Rays will be tested now....

So, now the Rays have to "man up"? It's not enough that they've been slaughtering the Red Sox so far this series? Now's the time to "man up"?

I think they've already "manned up."

Too true. All that chest-thumping reminds me too much of people saying as recent as a couple of weeks ago "Are the Rays for real?"

On top of that Maddon has 'conceded' (as much as you can concede with Kaz) game 5 by matching him with Dice-K. He doesn't want a repeat of games 1 and 2. Also, Lester could pitch game 6 if their is one. Gotta get to game 7 before one worries about what the hell will happen to Becket.

I don't see why TV execs would be worried about the Phillies making it... They are quite popular, and Ryan Howard, Jimmy Rollins, and Chase Utley are in the media quite often.

And of course everyone has been keeping an eye on the Rays, and what to see how they do
