Same as Mo got from the Yankees & K-Rod can point to his age, what he did this season (breaking Thigpen's record) etc etc................oh yea it is a lotbut if h e gets it IT means SOMEONE thinks he is worth it (Papelbon's agent will be watching & drooling over K-Rod's contract)
Wow, this is a retarted deal

What makes you think so, though? Just because it's a large figure?
Pitching is expensive. $15 million per isn't an extreme amount.

Yes, but it is for a closer, a closer who is not the best in his league, even. Why pay 15 Million for 70 innings? There are plenty of decent relivers for a third that price

Carlos Silva is making 12 million a year to put up an ERA over 6.00. So while I realize its starters vs. relievers, I'd say K-Rod for 15 mil is somewhat of a bargain.

I'm not the only one who knows the truth about Matt Ryan.
In fact, given the way the market on pitching is inflating, 15 million for a closer of K-Rod's ability and reliability is probably pretty good.
Sure, he's not the best in the AL this season, but he's the best on the Free Agent market, and that's what really matters right now. But he ain't too shabby when hes on the mound in his own right.

I feel sorry for anyone that signs Rodriguez to a 75 million dollar deal
His pitching mechanics SCREAMS future injury
It is a lot for a closer. Only one other closer has ever gotten that much (Mariano Rivera). So, yes, it's a lot.
Is it market value? Probably.
I wouldn't ever give that much money to a reliever, no matter how good he is. Teams like the Padres and Athletics have proven that it's not that hard to put together a cheap, effective bullpen.
Actually yes, it is Ohms. In judging of overall talent, J.J. Putz is wayyyyyyyyyyy better than K-Rod. Putz is being paid 4 1/3 million dollars a year. $15 million is too much for a closer, especially for one who's likely going to have a serious arm injury soon, and one who's as inconsistent as Rodriguez.
