Jesus, talk about some teams throwing things completely out of whack. Alabama and Oregon State really threw a monkey wrench into things this week.

With these unexpected losses the Buckeyes should be back in it, making me a very happy person.

The Buckeyes probably will be back in it...but they shouldn't be. They suck and would be a 3 or 4 loss team in the SEC easily. Oklahoma and Alabama are the two best teams in the nation right now......that could change a lot going forward though.

Oklahoma is the best team in the country after Georgia and Florida go down.

Next, I would say LSU or Alabama. The two teams do meet I believe so it should be a great game.

The Buckeyes should not be back in the talks. They were dismantled by USC. And I hope they lose to JoPa and Penn State.

Whether or not they should be back in it is one thing. If they will is a whole different story, and I think they will.

Based on their games this year, I think a lot of people will put Alabama as the best team b/c of two wins over then top ten teams...but I personally think both Oklahoma and LSU will end up being just a LITTLE better than Alabama this year (and yes, I am a Bama fan). I think 'Bama will make a BCS bowl..but two losses wouldn't surprise me....we'll see though.

They will be, but it's a joke. Them not having to play a conference title game is a complete joke. There is a reason the Big Ten is so far behind other conferences......there's a reason the Buckeyes get majorly exposed every time they step out of their comfort zone. Conferences w/o title games need to get with it.

I'm 100% in agreement. That team does suck. They'd also be a 3 loss team in the Big 12. And OU and Bama are pretty clear #1 and #2, with LSU being right there in the mix (possibly tied with Bama at #2), and Missouri and Texas rounding out the top 5.

Wow, what an interesting week this was...

It's still going to come down to the Big 12 and the SEC. And it should be Big 12 champ vs. SEC champ. The SEC is so good that Vandy could sneak into a national championship game by winning that conference, possibly even with 2 losses, and it'd be hard to argue. By the way, that team looks surprisingly good so far.

USC is probably done for, even if nobody in the nation goes undefeated. I suspect one more loss out of them, simply because every single team in that conference has beating USC at the top of their to-do list, and prepares for their game against USC like it's a championship game. Oregon and ASU are strong candidates for another upset. And again, Ohio State sucks too much. They're not even the best team in the conference. They're not much better, if at all, than Wisconsin or Michigan State, and Penn State looks like they've got a better team this season.

BYU, Utah, BSU and South Florida all got a huge boost from this week's events. If one of the two aforementioned conferences implodes on itself and the champion looks weak, an undefeated Mountain West champion, particularly, could and SHOULD get some very serious consideration to play in the BCS championship.

    Agreed again.

And I'd like to add, as much as I'm in favor of some sort of playoff system, even a 4 team structured system, requiring or requesting all conferences to hold a title game could provide a lot of what is lacking with the system we're using now, and give us some of what playoffs would provide. However, it still wouldn't benefit mid majors with legitimately good undefeated champs. That's something that needs to be addressed somehow.

Get rid of one or both of those first 2 games you play against the 1AA teams and the SMUs of the world, replace them with a conference title game and a playoff game at the end of the season. It's time to get rid of the broken, antiquated system and put everyone on the same page. It's not 1950 anymore. Too many teams are too good, and we want a clear champion every year.

I am in complete agreement. Get rid of these ******** "warm up" games. Let's play real football that actually matters every week.

Yes to all of it. I think it's gonna come down to Mizzou vs. OU in the Big 12 title game and the winner of Bama/LSU later on in the year vs. Florida in the SEC title game..with the winner of those two title games meeting in the final.
