    RIP 2008 Mets

They're done. They suck. They won't do it this year. I'm getting awful sick of their choking...

Well when the RIP 2008 Dodgers thread was made they went off to storm to an almost impossible to overtake lead in the division so maybe this is the way to get a team going!

But if they do, can you really see them making it anywhere?

The Mets need an overhaul. They've gotten old, and it's time to start plugging in some younger talent. Do they have anything coming up?

Realistically ? No i dont see them going far in the playoffs.

If the bullpen just didnt suck quite so bad ,so often,
how many games ahead might they be ? ugh

Ive also seen the bullpen do things like
not give up an earned run over 20 some plus innings in a 2 week period.
Suddenly its like yes ok this is what i remember these guys being ..

    and then they suck again.

    but
Can we get lucky ? yeah sure.
how many games in a row did the Rockies win last year ?
    who won the supe ?
    yessiree schtuffy happens

No, they killed their minors in the Santana trade, TOTALED them. That was an idiotic move.

Really? Where would the Mets be this year if they had those 4 guys instead of Santana?

No, he asked if they had anybody coming up, not if they would help this year

You said the Santana trade was "idiotic." That's what I was replying to.

Yea, for the future. Maybe in the short term he can help them, but in the long term, it will be costly to the Mets. Just another attempt for a team to "Buy" a world series

I think he can be both beneficial in the short- and long-term. Santana's a great commodity to have because he provides such benefits in the short-term, while also being able to be counted upon for the future.
